Daily Allowance (DA) Admissibility

1. When Proceeding from India to Nepal/Bhutan (TD)

Period Admissible DA
First 14 days 100% of admissible DA
Next 14 days 75% of admissible DA
Beyond 28 days 60% of admissible DA

2. When Already Posted in Nepal/Bhutan and Going on TD Within the Country

Period Admissible DA
First 7 days 100% of admissible DA
Next 7 days 75% of admissible DA
Beyond 14 days 50% of admissible DA

Free ration & accommodation provided Only 25% of DA admissible
Tour exceeding 30 days Restricted to Foreign Allowance of the rank
Tent accommodation provided Full DA without restriction

Admissible DA Rate Example

Full DA for JCOs/ORs = 75% of 60 USD = 45 USD/day (subject to currency rate).

Important Notes

Note
Move Sanction must be clear about food & accommodation to avoid DA disputes.
DA is regulated by stay duration, nature of duty, and facilities provided.
Claims must always attach certified exchange rates and original receipts.
If detained beyond Move Order, proper Detention Certificate must be enclosed.
