📦 Luggage Claim (Permanent Duty Move) – Army JCOs/ORs

Applicable when posted from Old Duty Station (ODS) to New Duty Station (NDS) or Home Town (HT)/Special Permanent Residence (SPR) under Permanent Duty Move. Claims are governed by Rule 70, 73(a), 74 of Travel Regulations and latest Government orders.

✅ Entitlement Summary:

Level By Train/Steamer By Road (Rate)
Level 12 & above 6000 kg / 4-wheeler wagon / Double container ₹50 per km
Level 5A to 11 6000 kg / Single container ₹50 per km
Level 5 3000 kg ₹25 per km
Level 4 & below 1500 kg ₹15 per km

Vehicle Entitlement: Level 6 & above: Car OR Bike/Scooter | Below Level 6: Bike/Scooter

🚚 ODS ➡️ NDS (Permanent Transfer) – Rule 70(d)

  • Movement Order / Transfer Sanction Order
  • Payment Bills for luggage/vehicle transport
  • Vehicle RC (for conveyance)
  • Contingent Bill (Countersigned)
  • POSIN & POSOUT (Compulsory)
  • For claims above ₹2 Lakhs: Online Payment Proof / Cheque No. mandatory

Time Limit: From Bill Date to Contingent Bill submission must be within 2 months. Delay ➔ Time Barred ➔ Needs special sanction.

🏠 ODS ➡️ Home Town / SPR (Rule 73(a)) – NFS Posting

  • NAC for Outliving or Married Accommodation Not Available
  • Vacation Order / Allotment Order
  • Rule 74 Order (if applicable)
  • 1-Year Wait List NAC Certificate (if applicable)

Used when family must shift due to posting in Non-Family Station (NFS).

⚠️ Common Mistakes Leading to Rejection:

Missing POSIN / POSOUT entries Ensure POS entries are updated

📌 Practical Tips:

  • For claims above ₹2 lakhs ➔ No Cash ➔ Only Cheque / Online Proof valid
  • Date sequence: Move Order ➔ Bill ➔ Contingent Bill (within 2 months)
  • NAC is mandatory for family movement claims even in peace stations
